I'm stuck at the logon screen with frozen pointer, would placing a leopard os install disk right before it starts up,going to upgrade anyway, get rid of ubuntu os and install leopard? Would I have to delete the partitions?

The installer for Mac OS X Leopard should have an option like 'Clean Install' or 'Complete Install' to completely clean your hard disk and install itself over any existing OS. By the way, I use Ubuntu and have had no problems with it. I won't goad you on to use it if you have problems, but I guess the fault is somewhere with you. Ubuntu 7.10 comes with excellent hardware support and there is no reason why it should freeze on a brand new Mac computer.

Ashubetta... You could have frased that a little bit better.....

But back to Mac.

This is a thread on the ubuntu forum about the wireless mouse of apple

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...wireless+mouse

The fault is not yours, allthough Ubuntu has excellent hardware support Apple allways has been different.

The problem you now have is that you will have to connect a "normal" mac keyboard to make the nessecary changes. The problem seem to be within your bluetooth.

Otherwise, boot from the Ubuntu cd and see if it correctly detects your keyboard, if so, do a reinstall.

Hope this helps, Tom
