I have been trying to talk myself into learning Ubuntu so I figured I would order a disk to prod myself along. Who can resist a new CD?

I got the disk and 4 stickers today. I guess I'm supposed to promote it now. That all depends on if it kicks my butt or not.

It's completely free by the way if you want a disk and not have to download the ISO. Just took about 4 weeks to get here...

Hehe, let's say I'm very optimistic at this point. SWF and Serverguy talked me into downloading xUbubtu and I still haven't got around to installing that yet, just burned the ISO so far...

EF - The beauty of that CD you received is that if you are unsure about installing it you can always run it as a live CD which does nothing to your Windows install. You just have to change your boot menu to boot to CD first.

By the way, it works great as a rescue disk if Windows ever crashes on you

Well, I would've recommended Fedora... not right now since there's an issue with it which creates a pain in the ass.... which I'm not sure if they've resolved it yet or not... so hold out a bit.
