hi, can you help
i have a product to sell and the prices are governed by the height & width of each item.
there are approximatly 150 items in each range & 12 different ranges all with different prices to each other.
i dont know if it is possible but this is what i would like to do.

create a spreadsheet containing the cost prices for each range.if my cost price goes up i can change all cost prices in one go (ie increase by 3%)

from this cost price i can then produce a retail price list for my customers (ie cost + 50%) again changing all simultaneously. can it be done?

i would appreciate simple plain english as i am a novice with a modicum of computer skills (but with big ideas)
thank's demo

I'm still working on this Demo
I reckon we need to incorporate some =if statements to get this to work right.

I can get it to do the increase ok but not to update the original price. Think that will have to be by a macro.

it must be possible i cant see all these big companies entering all the new data into each individual cell every time they have a price increase?

its just beyond my limited knowlege( thats not hard to beat )

but with good people like yourself out there i'm sure the answer will come eventually.

thanks again DEMO

big companies are using an ERP or AIS system of some sort to deal with inventory, using relational databases. I've been attempting to work on this problem but I don't think I understand exactly what you want.

Thanks for taking an interest.
I can send you a sample matrix of what i am trying to achieve if you give me an e-mail address?

But baisicly a blank matrix with all sizes available.
I enter cost price into the appropriate cells excluding V.A.T.
This then generates a second matrix giving cost price + V.A.T. + mark up (i.e. + 76.5%).

if possible the cost sheet has the facility by simple means to accept a % increase across the board, that then generates an updated retail matrix.

hope this makes sense? or am i just a pi**ing in the wind

Thanks Demo

so you might have
A1 = cost price
A2 = VAT
A3 = markup percentage

and B1 is the full price, or whatever you're looking for
and it would be = (A1 + A2 + (A1*A3))
and you could drag it down the entire column? Where A1 might change but A2 and A3 would remain stationary until you manually changed them?
Or did I jump the boat?
