I need help removing the white background from a logo I created in Microsoft Publisher 2007.
How do I remove this white background so that I can only see the desired logo image?.

p.s I have heard that it can be done in photoshop which I do not have & is quite expensive.

Please help

Click on the image you want to turn the background transparent. On the picture/image toolbar that comes up, click the second icon from the right, then click the white background :-)

Thanks for the reply mctw
I have made the surrounding area around the logo transparent, the problem I am having is removing the whole white background behind logo so all I am left with is the picture.
I have saved as gif & jpeg but the white background still remains

I'm sorry, I don't get what you mean???
Can you upload a screenshot or something similar? So I can get a idea what you are trying to do.

Below is the picture I have saved in publisher 2007. As you can see there is a solid white background, which shows up against any darker backgrounds. What I am trying to figure out is how I can completly remove it so I am only left with the logo in the middle.

Use something like Paint.net to remove the white areas and replace them with transparency then save to png. Publisher isn't really an image editor.
