| Just had Office 2007 Ultimate delivered today (well, yesterday now) and after a couple of hours of perusal it doesn't appear to offer any benefit over 2003. Infact, the interface is not as intuitive at 2003. Some menu's are now 3 or 4 clicks away as opposed to 1 or 2 with 2003. Amybody else?

| I actualy had the exact same impression of it at first. But now that i´ve goofed a bit around I´ll say that 2007 is better. Some of the things that are difrent are listed below: You are able to save files in difrent formats than 2003. These formats take up less space have bigger capacity and are more compatible with other programs. For example: In Excell you are now able to plot in over 1 million rows where you were able to plot in "only 65000" or so in 2003. Another thing i really like is that the toolbar layout is used in all the office aplications. Another great thing about the toolbar is that there is a "shortcut" to every conceivable funktion. If you hold down "ALT" you´ll see that letters are emerging on the tollbar. Theese represent shortcuts. For example if you want to plot in an equation in a word document the shortcut is Alt+N+L+I (at least in the danish version of office). Well you get the point. And I actually think that you have a better overwiev over your possibilities in 2007 than you have in 2003. Everything is illustrated and that helps the understanding. In 2003 you´d have to know that the function is there to use it. In 2007 you´ll see it more easily because of the large illustrations. There are also a lot of premade models that you can use! Those can be very useful if you just explore the possibilities a bit. Well thats my spin on Mic. Off. 2007 vs Mic Off. 2003 For more information about the diffrences i recommend a trip to microsofts homepage. Best Regards: PranX |
