Default Linking a video to a powerpoint presentation

Hi All

My first thread, your help very much appreciated.

I have a powerpoint presentation DVD which has video clips on it as well. The powerpoint slide show has slides with a picture where the short ( 15 sec) video clip should be but the videos which are on the same DVD apparently have to be "linked" to the powerpoint presentation. How do I do this please. PS: I am not very PC technical.

many thanks.

Is it on DVD? If so you could copy it onto your computer. Then inbed it into the show.

Hi

many thanks for such a quick reply.

Yes the video clips and PP file are on the same dvd but the video clips are seperate to the powerpoint presentation file. I have copied the DVD onto my computer and laptop but how do I inbed the video clips into the slide show? Apologies for being so dense.

many thanks

I assume the files are now .avi or Mpeg?

Create a slide, or if you have an exsisting slide you want it on.
Go to Insert along the top. There should be a Movies and sounds. Click on that. It will then bring up a window for you to find the location of the video. Then insert it. Simple as that :)

Have you ran the show yet? Do you have to click or press a key for it to run when you are in the show?

Default Linking a video to a powerpoint presentation

Hi

Struggling again this morning with the video clip. The video clip I have now copied onto my desktop and it shows as a shortcut on windows media player. It plays fine on this. I have tried cut and pasting it and copying it onto the slide but that doesnt work. I have also tried "inserting" it as suggested. For some reason it seens to add a smaller subscreen but still does not play on the powerpoint? Can you explain please what I need to check. many thanks
