OS: Windows XP

I have found OpenOffice 2.3 and I like it so much, it is now my default Word Processor.

the trouble is, I have thousands of Lotus Wordpro 97 Files and when I export these as Rich Text Format (*.rtf) and open them into OpenOffice Writer, the formatting has been lost and all the pictures/graphics are scattered all over the place.

It will take too long for me to start each file again or to try reformatting them once imported into OpenOoffice.

my Q is: is there a way of converting Lotus Wordpro 97 files (*.lwp) to OpenOffice Writer files (*.odt)?

Never mind! I found my own solution!

I'll post it below for others who don't know how to do it:

Save your Lotus 97 File as "MS Word for Windows 6.0 (*.DOC) But when you enter the file name, put the extention "*.xml"

Open the XML file in OpenOffice and save this file as OpenDocument Text (*.odt)

File Converted!

yay
