Default is MS office XP compatible with MS office 2000

I have MS office xp professional and have a big presentation to do but the computer that I will have to use has MS office 2000 on it. I have been told by some that my presentation made in powerpoint xp will not run in powerpoint 2000. Help!!any answers / solutions will be greatfully recieved.

Default is MS office XP compatible with MS office 2000

They are upward compatible but not downward.

So... a 2000 file will open in XP, but a XP file will not open in 2000.
