I have given upon Windows instant search as even on an Intel i7 Quad core processor with 3GB ram, Instant search slows down the system, generally interfering with speed of all processes in a way that I just find unacceptable.
I have removed instant search and resorted to using the address book search which if fine for my needs BUT even that does not bring up entries that are quite obviously there in my contacts. Is there any answer to this as yet? I have searched the net and am finding only inconclusive stuff at the moment. Does anyone know if Microsoft anything to say other than suggesting stuff that does not work? |

What exactly is your question?
I may just be having an off moment. |

In outlook 2007 have removed Windows Instant Search and resorted to using the address book search becuase it was unreliable (did not find entries that are obviously in my contacts) and becuase it is such a resource hog that it's just not worth bothering with as far as I can see.
BUT even the address book search does not find entries that are quite obviously there in my contacts. It just seems to be unreliable. Outlook 2000 seemed to perform just fine in this regard. I wanted to know if anyone had found any solutions to the erratic reliability of the address book search. It is mentioned elsewhere on the web but there does not seem to be any answer. |
