Default Outlook Express and .dbx files

Hi
I re-installed outlook express, located my storage folder and moved my old .dbx files into the storage folder. I imported them (File-import) and the folders show up in outlook express but they are empty. When I look at the file size (via properties) in both the storage folder and in OE they both have the same file size (multiple sizes).
How do I see the emails in the old folders?

I am running Windows XP

Thanks
