Outlook Office 2000

Is anyone able to advise how I solve a problem I can't seem to resolve.

I was running Outlook 2000 on my XP machine, but have recently bought a new computer (as the old one had seen better days!)

I've installed Outlook 2000 (office) on to my new machine (running Vista), but keep getting an error message when I try to send an e-mail, or try to save anything. It says :-

'An error occured while attempting to open Windows Address Book. Unable to find the WAB DLL.'

Any ideas on what this means and how I can sort it?

This can be fixed. It is a known problem that can happen and there are a number of ways of fixing it.

First can you go to <Link hidden. Register for free to see this link!> and download wab32.dll

Save it to your desktop but don't do anything with it yet.

Click on Start and then in the Search Bar for Vista type in Wab32.dll

If it finds this file right click on it and then click rename. Rename it to Wab32.old

Then press enter or OK
Then go back to the desktop where you saved the Wab32.dll when you downloaded it. Right Click on it and then click Extract. You will need WinZip to extract it.

When asked where to extract it to you need to click on Browse and then navigate to My Computer - Local Disk (C) - Windows - System32

Click OK

Then go ahead and extract the file.

Now Outlook should be working again. If it doesn't post back and I can give you the next step to try.
