I am technical support for a medium sized network and am needing access to some files that were password protected by a previous employee.

I use office 2003 and that is the app that was used when creating these data files. So probelm is, the employee is gone with no way to be contacted. The replacement needs access but can't get in due to the password protection...

I tried a few things and nothing worked..
:(
Any ideas?

You could try, make sure you back the file up first though, as if you do it might go wrong.

Your welcome, and glad you got into the documents. Brute force hacking is sometimes the most effective way.
