Default Powerpoint and actionbuttons to outside documents?

Cheers again everybody

I wonder if there is any way to merge a powerpointpresentation and outside documents refered to in the presentation (refered to by actionbuttons) into 1 file.

I have a powerpointpresentation that I need to bring with me onto another computer. In that powerpointpresentation there is several links to outside documents (excel and word documents) the links are made with "action buttons". So that while running through the slides i can enter a specifik outside documents by clicking the action buttons.

When i save the powerpointpresentation on a USB storagesystem and put the file onto another computer these "actionbuttonlinks" dont work for the obvious reason that the documents refered to are not at the location entered in the actionbutton.

Are there any way to include these outside documents in the powerpointfile so that i wont have to place all the outside documents at exactly the same locations on every computer I bring this powerpoint presentation to?

Or are there any other ways that would enable me to just move the presentasjon from 1 computer to another very simply?

I´d like to thank everyone for trying to answer my questions (and everyone elses questions) on this forum. I try to give as much back as I can. But im not as skilled as most of you guys

Best Regards:

PranX

I assume it will be on the USB stick?

Well, what if you create a folder on the USB stick, lets say umm, call it powerpoint.
Put all your documents into the folder, then link it that way.?
Have you tried that.

Dan

Thanks Emry, That´ll work.

But I actually encountered yet another problem. I have to post the presentation on the internet, so that others can download it, open it and make it all work without the hassle. It would be so much easier if you on one way or the other could link the presentation with all the outside documents so that you could up or download only one file.

Well I know it´s a real nut. But i´d really appreciate an answer :)

Could i maybe zip all the extern documents in 1 zip file?

Let me just try that :)

Thank for trying to help me Emry!

Nope zipping them didnt work either. It saves the destination on my computer in the actionbuttons.

Anybody clever out there?

Right, so the folder issue worked. But you want to upload it to the internet?

Right, umm, i'll look into it for you.

Yep the zipping part worked. Now i just need the actionbutton links to adapt/confirm (throw me a bone im dansih ;) to the new enviroment in a way that enables the links to work without altering.

Thanks for your help Dan!

I havn´t done it yet.
I´m supposed to send a file to a webserver administrator and then he´ll upload it on his site, and from there everyone with access to his site can download it and run it.

Did that make sense?

If so, then you probably understand why I wanted to make it all into 1 file :)

Well again thanks for trying to help me :)

Cheers PranX
