Default .pub files - help!

Hi,
I've been sent a disc with essential information that I need for studies, but all the files are in .pub format - which I can't read because I don't have Microsoft Publisher installed. Microsoft reckons that the recipient can't do ANYTHING, but the creator can reformat in a different readable format - which I can rule out as I can't contact the creator. Do I have to buy Publisher, or is there a converter out there??
Thanks

Welcome to the forums!

This has been moved as the post has nothing to do with introducing oneself.

In answer to your question you need Microsoft Publisher, these is no other solution.
