Try Dragon Speech Recognizer. They are the best in the field. You shall check their website out or read more of their reviews from Google or some other software review sites. I am sure, this will be able to help you out.

I have heard that if you dont spend alot of money on this type of software they are pretty crappy and even with the good ones like dragon naturallyspeaking 9 you will have to train it into your way of speaking, which can take months to perfect it

NaturallySpeaking version 9.5 doesn’t take months of training to perfect but only minutes. Many people buy the software but lack the support to make it efficient for them. There are many factors that come into play such as computer specs, soundcard, microphone, and the way you pronounce your words. You also don’t have to spend a lot of money. The Professional version is 800.00 true, but you can get the 160.00 Preferred software and add Knowbrainer2006 and have almost the capability of pro. There is even a solution for people with thick accents and speech impairments called Univoice. I just thought an update was needed here. Note: XP users should have 2 GB of Ram Vista users should have 3 GB of Ram

I've used IBM ViaVoice, it works quite nicely. Can also be used for voice commands for other things, such as "Start -> Programs -> Accessories..." etc. The one I got came with a pretty decent headset, too.

I'm glad you using VR but support for ViaVoice is at an end. ViaVoice will never attain Vista compatibility and eventually all computers will come preloaded with Vista. I personally think NaturallySpeaking is vastly superior but everybody has their own favorite pair of jeans. There are many ViaVoice enthusiasts and many threads of discussion at the speech Computing Forum.I'm sure you’ll benefit from a visit to that site.
