Which spreadsheet software to use?

I'd like to learn how to use spreadsheets but don't know which software to use. I see that I can download Open Office for free or would it be best to purchase a copy of Excel?
Thanks alot.

Yep ... Excel is the Industry recognised package, so if you are learning to help in employment, this is the way to go.
Not many companies will be impressed at an interview, if you say you have experience in Open Office
