Hi all!

New member that has made a bit of a schoolboy error...(hope this is in the right section? If not could mods please move around)

Basically I started work on a word doc (.doc) and then put it on a memory stick, brought it home and uploaded it to my home computer. Carried on working on it etc. I then plugged memory stick back into computer and, like an idiot, I clicked yes to all replacing files of same name. So all the work I had done (~3000 words of a postgrad thesis) has disappeared and I am faced with the original.

I know I should have saved in different locations under different names, and I was sticking memory stick in to back it up I just had a slip after typing for about 14 hours!

Basically is there any way at all of undoing this overwrite?!! Can I get the file back before this calamitous mistake?!

Please someone say it can be done!!

Cheers

If you are using Vista, try opening the file in Windows Explorer right click the file, select Properties and click on the tab "Previous Versions" ..... it's possible the file you need will be listed there.
Not too sure about XP though.
