Trying to install Works Suite 2004, Word in particular. Everything seems to go OK with the install until I click onto Word after the install, then I get a message... Microsoft word has not been installed for current user. Run setup to install application...

All the other parts of Works Suite are OK - Money, Encartia etc. but its a no no with Word. Have tried uninstall but same result on re-install, check the micsoft helpsite and found reference to deleting HKEY-CURRENT-USER\Software\Microsoft\Office but can find no trace of this in the list, maybe this is the problem - the fact that it is not there at all. Any help/advice much appreciated. :?

It won't be there Red as you have installed MS Works not MS Office.
These are two completely different packages and it may well be that Word is not included in Works 2004.

Well spotted wolfey, word is not part of the works package.

Neither is Excel etc.

Works has its own word processor and spreadsheet program that is not the same as the ones included in the office package.

Very true Dave in fact I have Works 2001 and and any Excel files have a file extension of .xlr as against Office Excel extentions of .xls
