No. People just looked past your writing, but I am am sure some people would have been put of throwing on a bid at the last minute.

I have sold lots of things on eBay and the only way to do it is to be honest and exact with the description. You don't get any extra money for doing all the 'look at this, it is the best on eBay. cheapest on eBay. Take your PC to new levels etc....' (I'm not saying you did that, just an example.)

If people want something on eBay, they will be prepared to search for it. They know what they want of they would go to the local PC store and ask for advice.

So as long as you title it well and put it in the right category, people will find it.

Just a brief note about what it is, what condition it is in and why you are selling it etc. A contact phone number is a good way to gain trust in buyers.

Also, all the pre made fancy layouts do nothing on eBay either. A simple text listing will work just as well unless you are trying to set up a brand name or do selling something like web design where appearance is most important.

Also, the seller feedbacks are the important ones, not the buyer ones. Anyone can get feedback by buying £0.000001 ebooks, but the buyer can also see that you have just bought the cheapest feedback you could get hold of.

Anyway, the card went for a good price and you now have some decent feedback for next time. Just make sure it gets posted properly, in good wrapping, and on time.

Good luck eBaying!

PS. The funny characters and description thing you pointed out is just where something has gone wrong with the way the item's listing was rendered. It don't think anyone would have been put off by it.
