Our host performed a routine update last night that was meant to run a few hours to 06:00, something went wrong and we have been down until 19:00 this evening, things are now back to normal and should stay that way. Sorry for any inconvenience caused....

That's what Virgin Media often manages when they carry out routine work on their email servers

Good to see it all up & running again

Ha! Yeah, routine maintenance is a smart way of saying we want to mess with a load of stuff and we'll probably cock it up.

18 Hours down, I'm not happy with our host to say the least.

Been trying to get on for ages. I lost a very long post last night when we first went down... I thought it was my internet connection.

Oh well, we're back now and hopefully staying that way.

I was a bit concerned. The page wouldn't time out or anything, it would just never load.

They should come up with a default "Doing maintenance" page that users go to in these cases.

Totally agree. I was sure it was my DNS.

Don't worry Dave, it was out of your control. I had saved a copy half way through luckily.
