there is the other one.
Maybe just an opinion but you are comparing sub-standard parts with the MSI.
MSI is an Asian company (no offence) which is why it is $234.08

The e-GeForce is an EVGA product for $299.99 but on backorder. (I know still tickets to sell)

But Newegg has the BFG Tech in stock for $319.99 link here

despite that MSI is the way you see it, it is without a doubt a
company that i see rising to the top. there products are reliable, great priced, and they do a fantastic job at overclocking. you must realize that in Asia, there are more honer students than USA has students. they often are smarter than other counties in many times with technology. even when comparing to the USA. it has been shown that foreign students get better grades that USA students most of the time. so dont think that just cuz they are from there means that they are not as good. in fact, i think MSI may be the best thing since sliced bread. they may be new, but they know what there doing.

and by the way, they are out of stock on the link you gave.

I'd just like to ask why "It's from Asia" makes anything a poor quality product...

Everything is made in Asia. Even if MSI or EVGA is owned by an American company they will still manufacture their products in Asia because it is much cheaper.

no debate. just wondering why your dissin MSI. but thats beside the point completely. i was just saying you can get an 8800GT for much lower prices. even from EVGA which is (i think) more popular than the BFG brand. on the side note, what does BFG mean? (always thought it meant "big freaking graphics")

I'm no expert when it comes to games or graphics cards.

Find me a product better suitable and I will change the competition.

Remember it's difficult as we have entrees from different countries and items are different prices in these countries.

Just because you enter from USA doesn't mean you should pay less for a ticket as if someone from the UK wins we still have to pay more for the item.

What everyone seems to be forgetting is the VAT added to most consumer products in the U.K. No, repeat NO, pc component (in this instance) is comparable in price to U.S prices.

So there's absolutely no point comparing prices.

Also.

There's a plethora of manufacturers out there who manufacturer graphics cards, factory oc'd ones. They all have (like car manufacturers) their own ways and means of producing a faster one over and above the stock reference speeds.

The faster the oc on the gpu, ram, and (lately) the stream shaders means the cost to the consumer is higher.

Everyone has a personal favourite, or a brand they've used in the past that they can testify to getting a quality product from. But some people might have had bad experiences with the same brand so have a different opinion.

At the end of the day these latest comments are ruining what was a really good thread. How many other forums offer a top end card model in a raffle? I can count on one hand the amount of forums that I've, personally, seen offer a competition such as this. Come on! What is it for a ticket? £4 or something? 4 lousy quid so you've a one in fifty chance of winning the card!

So can we get back on topic please. Dave's already changed the prize once to suit (something I agree with actually as it's a better card). I would hate this thread to degenerate into a free-for-all, as that would just disappoint me.

Seriously, enoughs enough.

It's ok Cheesepuff, its only a disagreement.

Now, lets get back on topic and put this business behind us, 'ey?

Personally I think the card you've chosen is great. I'm not sure if it's just me, but the 8800 looks "odd", if you know what I mean. I think its probably just because it's extra slim and has a nice casing, but...

Getting past the squabble would include stopping posting about it.

Instead go and Digg it...... and comment on it. Stumble it, del.icio.us it etc....
