Yeah, that is rather pathetic, if just the members that entered already (which is in your interest) dugg it we would get front page at digg, which could result in 10-100 thousand visitors.

Basically the more people that digg a story the more visitors digg send to this site.

In answer to your question it will not hurt promoting the competition anywhere you like, thanks.
