Yes, I know servers cost money, licenses cost money but I think the amount of advertisements is excessive. Plus, they are annoying, distracting and some of them even make noises.

Thanks for the input.

They are very easy to ignore, I don't even notice them anymore.

Also, the page sizes are nigh on identical without ads, so removing them would make no difference to load times.

Maybe you should upgrade to broadband.

99% of websites have ads, all the big ones do, it's the way the Internet is.

Thanks.

Much of Australia (from what I have learned) has not made it to Broadband availability. They have to be careful with their internet usage to avoid paying extra for going over limits.

Firefox with the Ad Block Plus add-on and I don't see any adverts on any page I visit. :)
This site looks extremely different if I come here without ABP.

For the record this site currently cost me $400 a month.

That's 5 grand a year mate!

Not to mention the time it takes from each and every one of my days.

I then offer it for free to it's members.

Obviously I must be nuts... But not nuts enough to remove the ads.

I've recently installed vista and had to use IE7 for a while untill I installed all the updates and then finally firefox, and it was completely different using it in firefox!

All 4 of the googleads, the flashing thing at the top next to the googlead, the one top right of the website and the one at the bottom were all here and were pretty annoying to an extent, but as soon as I installed firefox + ABP it was back to normal again :)

Don't like ads? get firefox + ABP ... they're both free, you'd be nuts not to.
