Coming Soon!

Hey all,

How this works is fairly simple,

I have a MOD for the forum that will monitor how much you post, the length of your posts, the threads you start, how many times you login, referrals, and points for what your referrals do etc etc.

You will automatically gain points for these 100's of actions on the site and then at the end of each month or each quarter we will issue prizes for say 1st 2nd and 3rd.

This could be good as there will be no entry fees, and YOU will be in full control of if you win or not rather than it being complete luck. Prizes will be more frequent too.

In return the site should be busier which makes us happy.

Seems like win win for all.

Let me know your thoughts please.

Dave.

Sounds like good fun, and takes into account spamming, so people can't just go to every thread and type "I agree with the above post" to get loads of posts.

EDIT: Also, would this take into account previous activity? and does it take into account reps given/received etc?

The points would reset every month or quarter so there is equal chance to win each time the prize is up.

Thus previous points will be irrelevant.

And, yeah, it can spot spam, bumping and replying to oneself, the MODs will watch as normal too so there will be no way to cheat the system.

Wow, and here I've been restraining my typical windbag self trying not to waste your bandwidth. It seems that I have a question about virtually every thread, guess I'll start asking them now........ maybe I can win a brain............

EDIT: How about a political thread, THAT will get the posts flying......

Please don't ever worry about bandwidth.

We want and try to encourage people to talk, if you don't the forum dies. It's that simple.

OK, so, I think best thing to do is leave the raffle running, stopping it provides nothing positive so may as well let it continue, we will get there eventually.

The points system will be on top, so additional prizes for the top 3 high activity users each month probably, still working it all out, a full explanation thread will follow. But as an idea you get points for everything, referrals, starting threads, posting, length of posts, how many posts your referrals make, how many times you or they log in a month. Basically, everything. The more you use the site and the bigger the action the more points you get.

In the meantime here are the current points totals, they have just started accumulating. This will give you an idea of what I'm on about, obviously they will be reset prior to this officially starting.
