Default Question for International Members

Following on from my name change thread I'm interested to know if our .co.uk domain name is having a negative impact on our international traffic.

So before you joined...

Did you assume the site was for UK visitors only?

Does it stop you from entering competitions as you assume they don't include you?

Do you think it bothers others thinking of registering from your country?

Did it bother you in any other shape or form?

Thanks.

I never noticed the .uk at first. Wouldn't have mattered to me. I had to do a search to find it the second time as I didn't bookmark it and when I typed in tcf.com I obviously didn't get here.

Nope.

I can't speak for everyone but it has never bothered me. I tend to visit alot of forums based all over the world. As long as they are English speaking.

US users tend to get .com search results on Google. You have to sometimes try harder to find a .uk or .fr address. Probably the same for any country. Hope that makes since.

hi

i don;t care for domain name and sth like these

what is important for me that the users should follow a certain rules which a moderator (who has paid and tried to make a virtual community) indicates them ... that;s all

and in my opinion there are two worlds now and u should not trust on the second one

1-The Real world which we all live in and face the truth every day
2-The Virtual world named Internet that u know about it too well d:

P.S: You;re a great Moderator ! Be sure of that (at least i liked the way to post lol)

Best Regards

i envy that post ^^

anyway the main reason i came here was i knew it was UK based

i mean i needed a few definite questions answered and would have preferred it from UK experience

of course this answers the question of international traffic, i googled 'computer forum' and got hundreds of sites that didnt seem friendly if im honest

so i added UK to the end of my search and this was top of the search, i know my opinion is biased, but i have always preferred co.uk

of course now im here and know the regulars i have no issues with .com

also there are much more .com computer forums than .co.uk which is another thing to think about, changing to .com may make it harder to find us in that theres a higher number of search results
