Hey Carbon, (and you too Dave lol):

I've been linking your guide here at threads on Bleeping Compute. That's not a problem is it? I also quoted you once without credit for a sentence (on PSU's), but since I also linked your guide in that thread, I figured it was easy enough to see it wasn't me saying that. Linking it isn't the same as when someone just copy pasted it at a forum without credit is it? Doesn't linking the guide bring more traffic here? LOl After the first 10-20 times I linked it, I felt like asking you if I could copy/paste it over there (with credit) but decided the links would bring folks here which is only right since you created it here for Dave. Have you seen any increase in traffic from bleepin computer Dave?

Dave: I've been helping folks over there some with their Vista problems and in doing so I find that many of them are because they are infected. Bleep is a great place for Virus help but............ they are SO backlogged that it's not unusual for someone to wait three days or more to get some help. Is there a reason I can't suggest to the folks I'm helping that I think have malware to come here and have sbj, EF and Glaswegian help them (where's glas been btw, haven't seen him in a while). I don't want to over work those guys, but at the same time, I want folks to get helped faster and this place to get more traffic lol. Of course I would talk to the site owner over there before I started directing folks over, but my thinking is, and correct me if I'm wrong, that the UNITE and ASAP folks don't care where someone gets malware help, as long as they ARE getting help and getting it from a fellow pro. The three we have over here are every bit as capable as the ones they have over there. Hell, from what I have seen from looking at some of their malware cases our three are BETTER than a majority of them lol. So let me know if i can persue this. It's a real PITA to be helping someone, determine they are infected, get them to the malware section there and then wait days until someone finally gets to them. If you and the malware trio here are cool with it, I'll ask management over there and then start sending folks over here for treatment whenever I am helping them and it's obvious that they are afflicted.

Let the moderators/malware helpers at BC direct users to other sites for help with virus or other issues. The reasons are many and we really don't need to get into the why's. Ultimately, yes, it would cause problems.

That's cool EF. I figured I'd ask here where I "know" you folks than ask over there lol. Thanks. It was just a thought.............

Honestly if you asked there you might end up getting insulted.

Note: I have nothing against BC. That is one of the sites I have learned from countless times.

LOL I'm a reporter. Believe it or not, I can ask strangers delicate questions and get polite answers. Or if I get a rude answer, I CAN (not that I do it other than when I'm in reporter mode) thank them so profusely and humbly for their kindness and generousity that I have them stammering apologies lol. anything to get the facts..............

I don't mind it being used as long as it's linked to the one over here. A copy/paste out wouldn't be good because of a few things:

1. I've never been there so I don't know how competent the people there are about hardware issues. I don't want to be caught up with some ~*~XTREME GAMERZ~*~ trying to debate me on a site I never frequent about how SLI is awesome and you should buy a 1000W PSU.
2. I like CJ quite a bit and I've always been welcome here, so I figure having it over here as a traffic getter is the least I can do. Bubba, I think you remember the hardware section on the Steam Forums and how horrible that is to everyone.

The balance between dumping it everywhere and having a mess on my hands vs. wanting to help as many people with advice that is sensible, realistic, and free from the KillerNIC-and-LED crowd is kind of hard but I think linking it is fine. Feel free to quote parts of it though as much as you want as long as it's linked back.
