Hey all,
I'm getting an electric guitar for Christmas (Hopefully), I'm going to be starting of with a Squier Strat/Laney MXD30. I've watch so many lessons, online tips, hints etc that i practically feel as if i could pick up an play strait away, of course i wont as nothing worth dong in this world comes easy. So anyway i was wondering if anyone here at Cj Owns or is able to play a guitar , Acoustic or Electric? And how long have you played for? Or if you would like to learn some day. Has anyone heard of Paul Gilbert? the mans a guitar legend!

Yea, I play guitar, but only have for almost a year. Got my guitar last year. Tip: get a good teacher. I have a good teacher, and he has given me a lot of useful stuff, so it's good to have one. Hehe, my electric guitar is some crappy one, it's got no brand, but it's good enough. Might get a better one. Being able to play some of your favourite tunes is very satisfying, although it took time for me to learn some.

That kid is awesome! I've been playing for 12 years on and off, never in a band or anything and only self-taught (and a lefty) and am NOWHERE near his standard! Reminds me off the guy from Muse a little.

Wait until he gets older, he wont be able to move his fingers THAT faster then!!

I bought myself an electric guitar a few weeks ago, never played one before. Think I may be a little too old to learn (44yrs old), but i'm determined to crack it. Only want to learn a few old school punk tunes, how hard can it be

No probs Cousinjack, you'll do fine, you are never too old to learn. Prepare to get blisters on your blisters.

What old school punk tunes you wanting to learn?

Nice one Bubba, know what you mean about the blisters. The fingers are hardening up though. Wouldnt mind learning some Pistols, Clash and Ramones stuff, was always told back in the day that those beggars couldnt play anyway but I beg to differ
