I believe they are not allowed to spread false statements about other companies... but why are the politicians allowed to? I've only seen McCain ads, but they are so false.

I'm not sure how MS and Apple still intertwine. I know MS had stake in Apple at one point but sold it about five years ago... who knows what has happened since then.
