| Which band is the best: Echo and the Bunneymen,... Gotta go with Echo and the Bunnymen. They were the most self-defined band and the least self-destructive. Spandau Ballet is just a one-hit wonder, Tears for Fears self-destructed- same for Culture Club, but CC was a fireball of destruction. Duran Duran is definitely the most prolific and popular, but they were always meant as a commercial act. E & t B rode along at a tangent, some commercial success but that wasn't their overriding concern. They just took their music where it lead them and I have to respect that. |

At a pinch from those mentioned Tears for Fears was undoubtably the best but none of them are even in the same street as some of the legends from the late 60, and early 70,s such as Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Canned Heat etc. I could make a list as long as your arm and perhaps even longer than that. The predominant music of today is of course Rap which is a bit of a misnomer as it should be prefixed with a capital C. My System: #
