Hi,

I want to get into computer building repairing etc as a career and want to do a course so I learn more. So maybe I could work in a computer repair shop or something.

Anyone heard of this? Is it good or bad? Worth doing?

100% self taught mate, messed around with PCs from an early age, then bagged a trainee job but to date never had a training course and have no certifications.

Im a bit lost when I look at that site. What course would I want? and is it a home study one or one where you go somewhere to learn?

The course is - CompTIA A+

It is an industry recognised certification.

Then do something like a Cisco course if you want to be a network admin for example.

That website is the organisation, bit like the DVLA are for drivers.

You can apply to them for the test or go to 1000s of independent company's whom will teach you and then book your test when you are ready.

Basically you can either go direct, teach yourself and save money or go through a middleman, but it is more expensive.

Either way be prepared as PC certifications are not exactly cheap.
