To be honest whislt a busniness plan might be a good idea, i really dont think i'll do one. Mainly because i dont know how too.

I'm not a plc, just a sole trader. This for the monent anyway is only a secondary source of income. Obviously i hope to change that.

I'm not sure what to do with the pcs. I'm only going from experiecne but when i bought pcs in the past i just wanted pcs for genrel purposes, internet and downloading. I knew what specs ment i.e a 3ghz processor is better than a 2.0 and 1gb ram is better than 512.

So i suppose thats the market im aming for as opposed to office computers. People who sort of understand what a decent pc is and can see they are getting better value for money than they would get from pc world.

Plan of attack is

Go to bank on monday and open a sepertate account

bruciebonus trading as **********
Make a new ebay id, and get an account going. Plan to build up a reputation on there. that way i can sell the pcs one at a time and save money. Then when i get enough stock etc, ill start marketing my ecommerse site

sending out a link on the invoices to the ebay customers, advertising in the loacl paper.

I know people who can help me get custom packaging with my logo for cheap and my mum can handle my accounts and taxes :)

So i think ive got a good plan and a good starting block!

My problem with ebay is that i want to build good computers, but most people on there make their computers sound amazing for a cheap price, but half the times the people arnt getting what they think.

So if i list things properly my deals wont seem as appealing so ill have to think of a way around that.

Just a thought Bruce.

As you'll be shipping (?) the finished builds you might want to source some heavy duty, dedicated, pc packing boxes/containers.

And maybe also think about, for those pc's you install one, removal of the graphics card for shipment. Personally I wouldn't ship a pc with the graphics card installed.

Or if you're concerned over the buyer's level of knowledge and the re-connecting of the card (obviously buyer dependent; confirm with them prior to shipping) then you could obviously talk them through it or attach a quick 'how to' in the shipping container.

I mean, it's not rocket science is it. It just slots in the port and the mobo grip pushes over the tab on the pcb.

Alex your right, and it was something i was thinking about regarding the packaging. Its something im looking into. What about cases do they come in good packaging i might be able to reuse or is it not advisable?

Cheers.

The only case manufacturers I've known give packaging good enough to re-use for a system are Temjin and Lian Li.

The rest tend to be, well, cack. Just good enough for an empty case. And even then, in a lot of...err...cases....the case arrives damaged. I've known it happen a lot of times.

Temjin and Lian Li make high-end (so pricey) cases so I'd hazard you won't be using them.
