You don't think the average Tibetan would much prefer the demonstrators in Tibet to go about their lawful affairs and stop provoking the authorities? I'd be very surprised to discover that the average Tibetan's in favour of the turmoil there. Given which I also doubt your "just how the people of tibet must feel".

How do you make that out? "Closed mind" simply means "I disagree with you"?

Just to say i dont support the occupation of tibet as i dont support the running of the torch here, and as everything i hope there will be a non-violent solution to the occupation but sometimes to get to the wider global community you have to demonstrate, esp if you havent any oil
SO do you think they should just up shut up then spot??

Why do you call it an occupation of Tibet? The Chinese have administered Tibet on and off for centuries, mainly on. Having sufficient control over Tibet to prohibit the establishment of US air bases and missile sites along the southern border of China is an essential requirement of any sane Chinese government. That quite simply means that autonomy isn't an option for Tibet, the country can't have control of their own foreign policy. The Chinese administered Tibet throughout the 18th century for exactly the same reason though it wasn't the USA trying to gain access to the soft underbelly of China at the time. When the Chinese lost the Opium War with Britain (you remember that one - where we were pushing opium into China as a main export crop of the British India?) they lost the ability to restrain Tibet. They took it back the moment they shook off the Japanese after World War 2.
