I have been drinking it since the seventies and I am still here on earth. I probably have the cleaniest insides of anyone cause I drink alot of diet coke.

Some scientists made an experience : They put a tooth of a shark in a Coca Cola glass, after one week : nothing ! they did it again, same result. :) take care of your teeth.
I remember having read about a child that was dead, I think it was in Brazil or somewhere in Latin America, he drunk some Coca Cola after eating a Mentos. result : the child was dead, cause : intestinal explosion !!! :(

Yes a lot of carbonated drinks have a high sugar content and obesity can kill !!!

It's not the Citric Acid that is lethal in Coke but the high sugar content.
The most base form of citric acid is pure lemon juice.
