Yes, although I don't think solo debit cards can be.

Also .... remember you have no protection from internet fraud, unlike a Credit Card where you have automatic cover for purchases over £100.

Up to the individual merchant what they will accept. As philthomas said you have no fraud or purchase protection with a debit card.

You can use a solo card on sites such as Play.com, Amazon, Paypal, etc.

Thats all I have being 16!

You can also get 3V cards that you can use a temporary credit cards, you can top them up using your debit card, very useful for paypal accounts


Edit:Not sure if it available in your country though, thinking of it!
