....I'm not working Christmas Day.

I'm not even working across the week. Last day today (boo) at work until the 2nd Jan.

Don't quite know what to do with myself.

What are you lot upto? Or if reading this after the festive season, what did you get upto?

Thankfully I work when I want to, it's times like this that I love being my own boss.

Making people work Christmas day is pretty mean if you ask me.

im 15 i never work !! i get money by selling stuff on ebay and looking under the sofa ... im still not sure how i managed to get 700 pound for my pc build haha

Same as Dave here, being my own boss, will be off. May do some work before weekend just to exercise both body and mind.

I'm working Boxing day, not sure about new years yet.

Is it a legal requirement to get paid more on boxing day? As its a bank holiday?

I only work part time, so if they put me in for new years eve or day i'll just say no, as I'm busy out getting rat arsed

You're not legally entitled to extra money because it's a bank holiday. It all depends on your contract of employment.

Arg, just pisses me off the fact i've got to work on boxing day, and the company is so tight they wont pay an extra penny if they can help it.

Swear to god if I get any shifts near new years i'll tell em where to stick it.

I hear you Gaz.

Last year and the year before we had a team meeting where the staff said they'd cover xmas if I and other member covered Eid.

Eid fell first, we covered. Christmas fell and they renaged. HR told me we couldn't force 'em either.

Needless to say it fell to me.

They did get some crap shifts in the new year to make up for it though.

Not that I'm bitter or hold grudges or anything.
