I dunno Dave, I can see how one could drop a hard drive, but how in the WORLD did he bust a chip off his MoBo putting a CD drive in? I just can't picture that lol. That's kind of like breaking your hand while making chicken noodle soup.................

how about building your entire pc fully, going to install the hdd, and finding that to remove the caddy, you have to remove almost everything from the case.......

Perhaps not a big a fail as some, but its still teeth nashingly annoying!!

well, its possible... if you bash your hand over and over with a saucepan

and a food related fail, as i was making 'Easy Mac' i didnt put water in with the pasta, i put the bowl in the microwave for 30 minutes, instead of 3 and i left a metal spoon in the bowl.

needless to say, the microwave and the bowl no longer around...

and a PC fail, how about building a new PC, everything goes well until it won't turn on, one hour later and a lot of cursing later it becomes apparent that the power button jumper wasn't on properly. lovely.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but in a moment of rushing & poor concentration, I hooked up a HDD temporarily, to pull off some data and let the circuit board of the drive touch the case.
A few moments later I smelt that famiiar electrical burning smell and managed to fry the drive.

The air was blue in more ways than one, I can tell ya

I've been using a portable Xubuntu from Pendrivelinux. It wasn't working so well so I decided to go for Kubuntu instead. After downloading/copying etc I booted with the flash drive and Xubuntu loaded!!

I put the Xubuntu ISO back in the install instead of the new Kubuntu.

Be sure you copy the right files....

I stripped my ex's laptop to clean it due to an over heating problem, put it back together and had 1 screw left over, so i took it apart , found where it went, re assembled it with 1 screw left over again... i gave up and a few days later she complained that her cd drive would fall out if she tilted her laptop to one side, i just said it was normal
