now a day we in the USA use unleaded with is less powerful cuz of the no lead. but also much much more clean. now major cities go a step further to make it more clean by adding chemicals, but as with the lead, makes it less powerful and cost MORE cuz of the chemicals needed. places in the middle of nowhere have better gas prices cuz they dont use as much of the chemical so its cheaper for the people there to buy (so since there is less people they figure it wont pollute the air as much apposed to if it were that dirty in a major city)

We generally get unleaded, high octane unleaded and diesel at our pumps. Last time I worked in the US gas was under $2 a gallon but over here it was round £4 a gallon. People in the US were complaining like hell how expensive theirs was!

Most of the extra cost here is tax, tax, tax, a nice steady earner for inefficient governments.

over here we have a pathetic fuel watch scheme that is supposed to save people money because the servos have to show any price fluctuations the day before. but it doesnt save any money. it pushed prices up further. thank you mr rudd and labour government

The whole system of displaying prices broke down here when petrol hit £1 a gallon. It recovered when garages changed over to displaying prices per litre, but it has crashed again.

Reason? Only 2 digits for the display!

there is a point between the 3rd and 4th digit and its in cents.
that brings the max price down to 999.9 cents. yes. all prices over here have .9 cents at the back. useless.

Well, on 10 gallons you save ... 1 cent!

More alarming, you mean your system will fail when gas hits $10 a gallon? It's already more than that here.
