I would suggest business major since it's more applicable to various fields vs HR.

Some schools have a HR major. Other schools may offer Management with a concentration in human resources. I'm actually a Management student whose planning on pursuing a career in human resources. I hear advancement possibilities are great and it pays very well once you get a few years of experience and move up. I also hear that's it's very tough to break into the field, even with a degree. The key to getting a HR job on relies on experience and networking. So if you decide to go that route, be sure to get @ least 1 internship, possibly two. Also join professional organizations such as the Society of Human Resources Management and join any organizations on campus and volunteer in areas in which the can develop the following skills: planning, organizing, training, and recruiting others. Be sure to start networking as early as possible. The first step with that is to join shrm (Society of Human Resources Management) and try to meet a few of the professionals from your local chapter. They can possibly refer you for future jobs and they may be ones you can try to intern with. Well, I hope this helps! Good luck!!
