because your making a joke of this guys situation. he is genuinely freaked out by this and all you tell him is to ignore it? tell him its not there? you cant say its not there cuz you haven't been there. you cant say something is there cuz you haven't been there. but if something really is there all he wants is a bit of help. instead you mock him. what kind of person puts someone down in there time of need? you could at least have a heart to just say "i don't think i can help" and leave it at that. but all i hear are insults.

religion or not the main topic is Ghosts in this guys house. nothing more broad in the whole religion/beliefs than that. save that for another topic if you wish. lets stay as close to the intended subject as we can.

they explain what others see by wrapping there denial with a quick explanation to meet there expectations. all you are is making excuses and cant come to the fact that these things exist. you cant ignore it by simply placing something to make your views explain it. in case you haven't notices, there are just as many people out there that believe in ghosts as there are that don't. and sadly for you, more evidence suggest that there are such things than there are to say there is not. The reason people to to the theory of ghost is because there is no way to explain what happens sometimes. even scientifically. god is as far fetched as ghosts. you cant prove or disprove one or the other. only the fact that there is more to support that is exists than there are to say it doesn't.

once again, you don't know that. what we should be doing is helping him find a way to make sure nothing is there or isn't there. if you reassure him that something is not there and it turns out there is then all you did is give false hope and a lie. if you so sure there is nothing there give him a way to prove there is nothing there. that would be what i call, helping the situation to find the true answer to all of this.

he said it was a ghost right? you could help find ways to see if it is ghost or something else. simple as that. people come to forums for help. not to be criticized. and when he needs help more than ever, ALL i see is criticism. why can you all put that aside for just one moment and think of away to test so he can rest assure it is/isn't there?

I took the comparison literally: it is very unlikely god exists, therefore no point worrying about it. Similarly ghosts, fluffballs, djinns, ...
