Default LCD TV's

I'm assuming a number of you out there have a LCD TV, or three.

I'm about to purchase my first and am just wondering if anyone's got any fave's.

I'm looking at one with a screen size no bigger than 32" I'm not so happy about dynamic contrast but it appears this is becoming the norm so I guess I'll have that as well.

I'm leaning towards the Samsung LE32R88 due to it being compliant with HDMI 1.3 and also having 3 of these ports, anybody got this model or another Samsung model?

My biggest concern is analogue playback of video/tv etc. I've read many review's sniping at LCD's not having the gradient levels a good CRT tv does. (Pretty much how tft monitors were in the early days as opposed to CRT monitors).

Plasma?

I understand the tech side, but i'd appreciate some user input.

Default LCD TV's

A few months ago, we gave the father-in-law a Viewsonic 37" TV and he loves it.

He has the picture stretched to fit the widescreen, and he watches a lot of sports. He hasn't watched many DVDs on it yet.

Anyway so far, so good for the Viewsonic.

i've got a 32" toshiba regza (32wlt66), it has an awesome picture and the inbuilt speakers are really good. Poor pc support though. I use Virgin Media V+ via HDMI and the picture is amazing. I compared it side by side to four others, sony, lg,phillips and samsung and it was far better.

I thought i saw an advert for currys, but all of the DSG sites seem to be dead.
