i'm not sure what sort of a plane you're thinking on carbon.

memory upgrade. hard drive upgrade. you can do the processor if you tried. and there are some newer laptop models from gateway and such that have exchangeable video cards.

so i don't know why you think they're hard to upgrade. memory and hard drive are relatively simple. and for 300 bucks you can get a very nice mobile gpu for the laptop.

I thought Macs were PCs with a different OS running these days.

The correct poll should be MacOS vs Windoze vs Linux surely?

Hmm, while memory is relatively easy to change, I just don't think buying laptop hard drives and such are worth it for the money, and processors are quite difficult. The video card thing is often hot cards running through expresscard slots, not the fastest of bandwidth lanes. I look for a Core 2 Duo, DDR2, and decent amount of HD, and go with that - I have a desktop for real intense graphics :)

so do i. i'm not into the whole laptop scene. the only real thing they have is mobility and that's about it. they're not that powerful for gaming. i just built a desktop. and sadly i'm still in the process. i'm missing a sata hard drive cable which should be arriving in the mail in the next couple of days. and i still need to upgrade my graphics chip...but again...money is the issue :3

honestly...if i were to have a laptop, it would be strictly for word processing and not much else. maybe light gaming on the go. but i wouldn't do anything intensive. unless you buy a top of the line model which costs upwards of 2000 and more, you're not going to have a good gaming laptop.

I like Macs better, They are more user friendly and easier to understand and Are very unique looking that have good programs. They are the only computer that can run both operating systems, With a program called bootcamp. Macs have amazing graphics and iv'e never had a virus befor on my mac leopard, its basically like having a laptop.

The only Good thing about a pc is it runs all the latest Pc games, But Macs are alot better. Pc's are gross and take up to much room.

Your brother is right a Mac is better, And it has an option of Running windows Vista And windows xp on the loading screen, Technically It can run Pc games. They are expensive, But are alot better.
I shall not alot you a lot of marks for spelling!

Nice spamming.

Anywase back on topic, Yes you're right Pcs are pretty amazing. I used a Pc my whole life until recently, where I switched to using a Mac .. I just like it. Everyone has their own opinion, If you haven't had a Mac then don't judge.
