| Been following this story since the little girl's disappearance as each update gets made public. Now? The police in country have apparantly offered the mum and dad a deal. Basically if they say that they 'accidentally' caused the death of their daughter then they'll only give them a 2 year sentence. Does this strike anyone else as the police over there clutching at straws? They haven't solved it upto press, they eyes of the media (and therefore the world) are upon them and they want to be seen to be doing something, anything. And what a deal! "We want it solved so we'll offer them a deal that saves us face". If the parents did cause the death of the child accidentally (or otherwise, which is what the deal is really about), what did they do? Calmly go for a drink with friends, and then go somewhere (in a country they aren't imtimately familiar with, even an area they aren't intimately familiar with) with a spade or two and dig a hole? For their own daughter!? So the child hasn't turned up, does that mean the parents are guilty. Hey, it's just an opinon. Mine. But the whole thing smells. Yes we've had other people kill loved one's, and gone on TV asking that the killer be brought to justice etc etc. But I just don't believe it this time.

| Yea, it is dominating the news here in the US also. Many share your views. "Something" isn't right. It is just too hard to believe the parents are at fault. But at the same time there have been too many cases of parents doing horrifying things to their own children. The parents are negligent in not protecting their child. But I find it hard to believe they are responsible for her (possible) death. A clear answer would be nice, but this one may be a mystery for years to come. Even with a conviction of the parents, I don't think the real story will ever be clear. I just hope the little girl is at peace. Alive or not. |

| Yep definitely the police clutching at straws clearly they haven't got a clue, so now are back to the parents.

| I agree.

In all fairness nobody outside of the cops has much of a clue about whats going on. I just wish they would find out one way or another. The amount of media coverage this one case has received is a joke.Every day children are killed by unjust wars, starvation and brutal sanctions and nobody seems to give a sh*t. Rarely is it mentioned on the news and where is the public sympathy for them? Ill tell you where, nowhere. My System: Krlll
