I want to find out who else does Martial Arts. In your first post here just write a bit about yourself then we can chat about alsorts :)

Style: TaeKwon-Do (Chang Hon style) Which to non-MA's its not the style you see in the olympics. We fight with hands and feet some people call it ITF style but thats just the first organisation.

Years Learning: 4

Belt/Grade: Red Stripe or 3rd Kup.

Competitions: Hemel Inter club comp 3rd in sparring 2006
GTI British 2nd in patterns 2006
GTI Southern 2nd in patterns 2007

I haven't really done many competitions as I got a broken nose in the British in 2006 and then they cancelled the 2007 British due to flooding.
I train with the GTI (Global TaeKwon-Do International) and my club is North London TKD www.NLTKD.com

ive always thought about taking up a similar training or boxing

the problem is around here everyone does it for the sake of knowing how to break some guys nose on a night out, so its not really the atmos i wanna train in

id love to and will take it up in the future though, just need the right type of members

Well I'd say go along to a club and just see what its like. Your more likely to find people who just want to break someones nose in boxing. Look in the yellow pages and see what styles you have near you and pop along and have a look. Things like Aikido you won't find any macho men there!!

Good hehe

I do weight training too. I think you should give it ago. What have you got to lose. But make sure your careful on your choice there are a lot of crap clubs around. So look at the higher belts/grades and see how good they are. Lots of people who are not black belt material are getting the belt because they 'put effort in'
