Anyone heard from Serverguy? He has been stranglely absent. I say strangely, because in my short time here he (along with some others) has been a beacon of light who's advice I trust.

I personally have had several threads that I would have liked his advice on, but he doesn't seem to be around/ WHo gave him permission to take a vacation? I know I certainly didn't. Did anyone else, or is he just AWOL?

Might be busy with school. He's usually never gone for too long. Hopefully he will return soon.

Might be busy with work then. Anyway, he should have got the e-mail about the new competition, so will probably find his way back soon enough

Wow!

People actually miss me! I am wanted!

I have been crazy busy recently with various things, mainly that the Exchange server that is used in my dads business went to pot. Thought I would be clever and take the opportunity to virtualise them at the same time, to fit in with my scheme to get everything on just 3 severs all with failovers.

Well, it all went wrong. Had to switch to an emergency mail solution in the mean time. But everythings back up now and hopefully I'll never have another instance like this now all the servers are on failovers on 3 decent spec servers. So, whilst this was going on I couldn't really face helping people diagnose BT Home Hub wireless issues!

Also had some down time from the home internet as we switched providers, and the business internet is heavily filtered and I didn't get around to making an exception for this site.

Yep, I'm still at school, and am pretty busy with that at the moment. Also busy with post harvest work on the farm at the moment. Nearly got all the ploughing done now.. drilling next.

I'll try to check in a little more regularly but if anyone has a specific question ping me a PM and I should get back to you within a few hours.

P.S. I have been able to use some of my 'vacation' to write up some interesting tutorials, based around networking of course, but you'll find out more about that when I post them.

Nice to see there wasn't anything wrong with you apart from being busy.

Well next time you absent yourself dammit remember you need MY permission lol. And no dying is not an acceptable excuse either unless you have received permission to do so.

Cool deal on the networking tutorials. I'm having some fits with that and as soon as I clean up some other messes, (not computer related0 I'm going to need to sort those out.

Yep, I'll finish them up as soon as possible. I also just ran across Vibe Streamer, which is pretty dang cool. I just finished setting it up and maybe some other would be interested in it as well.

I'll try not to be AWOL again!

I had to clear all my active topics in the User CP as I had pages of them and no way to sort through them without reading pages of junk. So if you were waiting for a response say and I'll try to find it.
