I am having an awful experience trying to sign up for the preferred account. I click sign up and enter my information and i get this response:

"An important message regarding your Newegg.com Preferred Account Application

Dear Paul

Thank you for shopping at Newegg.com

We regret to inform you that your Newegg.com Preferred Account application could not be approved at this time.

There are multiple reasons why an application may be declined. To improve the likelihood your application will be approved, please make sure you have entered your information correctly into each of the requested fields. Your application cannot be processed with incomplete or inaccurate information.

We encourage you to try again if you feel this message was prompted in error. You will receive a confidential letter to your billing address within 7 days via US Mail with additional information.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The Newegg.com Preferred Account is issued by CITI, Salt Lake City, Utah and is serviced by I4 Commerce P.O. Box 5018, Timonium, MD 21094."

the letter then says the reason is because they could not match anything with the information i provided??? I have called and called and keep getting transferred from customer service to preferred account time and time again and NOBODY can help me.

anybody have similar issues?

thank you

could be that you have no credit rating, PE is basically a credit card iirc and if you don't have any credit history they can't check on it.

i've always maintained the best way to get a response out of newegg is to email them. they're extremely generous that way (have had multiple "free stuff"/refund fee waiver experiences), and there's no room for misunderstanding.

What Carbon said. Either you have no credit history or a crappy credit history (and I mean REALLY crappy, since citbank is the issuer lol, they usually issue to anyone with a body temperature).

If you have NO credit history, check out http://clarkhoward.com, check if he has advise for establishing credit, and if not try to listen to his podcasts to find out how and to find out how NOT to be stupid with what cash you have. If you have bad credit, he will tell you how to LEGALLY fix it, takes a while bro and you have to pay your debts, but it can be done.

NOTE to ADMIN and any others: Clark Howard is a consumer adviser. He sells NOTHING, he advertises NOTHING, his consumer advise is not only free, but it's special interest free. I wish it could benefit you folks across the sea, but I don't know how much he says applies. He is an ICON here in Atlanta Georgia, so much so that he has been Nationally syndicated on radio and profiled in the Wall Street Journal.

I'm sure Dave, you have someone honest like him in Great Britain that helps you (us) little fellers get through the mess of credit card companies and big business with some knowledge and equal footing. He really DOES help us "little guys" with no expectation of monetary gain from us. I am in no way affiliated with Clark Howard or his website. I am an avid listener of his for 15 years or so and have "met" him once at a book signing. He wouldn't know me if I came up and kicked him in the arse. I DO know though that he would approve of your website offering free, GOOD, help to people, he does the same. He's actually YOUR kind of guy.

Yeah, I used to listen to him all the time but he's on only really late now for some reason.
