Lol get this: A kid in my class (my lab partner to be precise) was crazy enough to eat some of the potassium dichromate that we were working with. Unbelievable, we've been being told not to taste, smell, or touch the stuff we work with without taking the protective measures beforehand. It turns out that that stuff was TOXIC

hehe. lol just a funny thing that happened at a high school.

it would have done it it was potassium, don't know what potassium dichromate does differently though.

Ingestion:
Corrosive. Swallowing can cause severe burns of the mouth, throat, and stomach, leading to death. Can cause sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea. May cause violent gastroenteritis, peripheral vascular collapse, dizziness, intense thirst, muscle cramps, shock, coma, abnormal bleeding, fever, liver damage and acute renal failure.

This is more than stupid, it's potential Darwin Award stupid. It has a "4-Extreme" on its data sheet for health toxicity. It's a potent carcinogen as well, so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets that later.

Sorry to displease you guys, but he didnt go green and his stomach didnt explode, but the teacher gave him a memorable "lecture" (basically called him an idiot and told him to go to the principles office). God it was funny

I know a guy blind in one eye now, thanks to him looking directly at (despite the obvious warnings to only use peripheral vision to watch) oxidising magnesium.. not the brightest spark... (the magnesium was!! badumbumcsshh :D)

Yea, magnesium isn't the best thing to watch, Magnesium oxide is what the military uses in flash-bangs, and can blind people temporally from only a few seconds watching.

Yea, that's what they use, because it burns so bright, and can be easily compacted (unlike a gas which would need to be in a very strong presurised container)

Well i think he was trying to impress one of the better looking girls in the class. I asked her later if she though that it was neat what he did and being a strait-A student she gave me the following answer: "No it wasn't neat and i hope that this ****er dies because of it. I cant believe he did that."
