I'm looking for something that doesn't require a lot of training that I can learn as I go. Hopefully, it wouldn't require a lot of money. I live south of Boston and have looked at a number of choices but am not satisfied with one thing or another. Do you have any suggestions? I've been in residential remodelling, but I'm looking to maybe switch to another career. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I think real estate investing might be a way to go for you especially since you are in the remodelling business. You can fix up properties and sell them. In the right real estate market that could be a very lucrative thing for you. I want to get into real estate, but I don't have any handy skills. I'd have to contract all the work out. You've already got that skill. Good luck.

When going out on your own, it's always best to stay with what you know. Residential remodeling could be transitioned into commercial as well. Most other things that you'd look to do for starting a small business would require that you have some kind of assets (cash) that you could use to live off of or to use to start things rolling for you.

Take a job at an insurance agency. Explain to them that you are a hard worker. Start out as customer service, but study for your insurance license. You'll want to take 4 exams: 1> Property & Casualty exam2> Life & Health exam3> Series 64> Series 63Stay with the agency for a year or two. Then start your own agency.

Little training, learn as you go, very small start up investment, work part time...What am I talking aobut? Try looking into starting your own cleaning service. You can clean offices and make a full time income working part time. There seems to be a growing number of people who are hiring someone to clean their offices. I own my own cleaning business and it was a great choice.

| If you're looking for something a little different, My friend Brian Carruthers operates this business from his home with his wife Haley. He used to work in real estate, but he was frustrated with having no free time. Now he is in control of his schedule and is able to do what he wants, when he wants.I have been working at it part time for about a year now, and I can tell you that it is definitely designed for learn-as-you-go.
