I am considering becoming either a software developer or a computer programmer, with a masters in both fields. I wanted to know answers to the following questions:

•Is it sensible to get at least masters in both?
•How long would it take to get a masters in both?
•In the United States, salary wise, what would you get if you were working with a certain business, in Texas. For both SD and CP?
•Whats the difference between the two?
•Does software development incorporate lots of programming into its work?

Thanks so much for answering these questions for me, I honestly appreciate it. I hope I can be of some contribution to your website, and I hope I'm welcome.

I am in intro to programing in my Freshmen (9th grade) class. i have done HTML, XHTML, and are now in Java Script. computer programing uses software to make things work in different ways. I'm not sure but i believe that software developing has to do with the software that computer programing uses.

ex: software dev. is like making the Internet browser.
ex: computer programing makes the Internet browser do different things

this is what i believe is true, although i'm not 100% sure.
