Default Spiders

Ever since we moved into the new house I'm hearing at least 10 screams a day......and finding at least 10 spiders a day.

I know they're house spiders. I understand that putting them outside just causes them re-orientate themselves and trundle back in but what the 'ing hell I can do about them.

From what i've read on some forums sprays don't work, conkers don't work, and the electronic gizmos don't ing work!

Don't want to kill the little dudes, that'd just be cruel...unless I get a cat and let him/her do it . Will a cat work? Is it seasonal?

What'll work?? The fiance can't bloomin' sleep now. She keeps expecting to wake up to one staring at her. Even I'm beginning to get that subtle little tingle/itch you get.

Default Spiders

Yeah they will disappear when it gets colder.
I personally love spiders.Right now there are 4 in my bedroom that I can see.
I think they are attracted to the light(or maybe they are smart enough to know that insects are?) then come in the window.
My girlfriend of course dislikes them but fortunately for the spiders she is terrified of flying insects so they stay.

Some of these geezers are big though. And I do mean big.

Next time I get a biggy, i'm gonna post it with a coin next to it for scale.

Ha! Just had a nosey at the lassy and she's peeking out from under the quilt with just her wide eyes showing (got in from work an hour ago and already found 3).

Haha, I have the perfect solution to your wee problem, though I'm not sure how your Fiance would react to it...

Have you ever considered Praying Mantis'? Discrete killers, watching them kill and eat something while it's still alive is more than satisfying...I mean Im no serial killer or nothing, but sometimes, after a particularly stressfull phone call to BT I like to sit back and imagine thats me sucking the life juices out of the beast that is BT!

No No, on to the serious stuff now...Have you tried making an example of one of them? Maybe if you killed a couple and hung them from the corner of the ceiling, or try writing an offensive remark where you last saw one...Recon is always a good idea, find out what makes them tick...Had a similiar problem with some weird looking bugs in my old flat, I had some special little leaflets made saying that there was a tropical resort for bugs just next door...worked a charm

The easiest thing to do is catch them in some kind of container that has a lid. then, take them away from your house somewhere and simply release them. They aren`t going to bother walking more than a few yards back to your house lol.

Regards Howard.

i had a spider in my room 4 days ago, it was so big you could hear tapping on the wall as it walked.
I smacked it with my shoe pretty hard and it dropped to the floor, it was so big it survived a tap that would crush a normal spider and it scurried away, i found it last night dead behind my tv and measured it , stretched out it was around two 2 pound coins in length it was thick black and fury horrible. if i was you id put the cruelty to one side and just kill them before they get the chance to reproduce.

Man I dont think there are any spiders like that indigenous to the UK.
So unless someones pet tarantula escaped all I can say is pics or it didnt happen(even though your story sounds quite believable).

i wouldn't believe someone who had told this to me so i see where your coming from, all i know is 3 doors down from me there's a man who collects lizards tarantulas and snakes but his tarantulas are way bigger then the one i killed. all i can say is I'm not lien but it does sound funny i will admit.
