Default What a week I have had

Well what can I say about the week I have just had except I wished I could have crawled into a hole and stayed there for the rest of my life. This has what has gone wrong this past week.

1. The hoover packed up - not a major big deal but still

2. The toasted broke - ok, bad luck comes in 3's

3. The microwave starts making a really bad noise - that should be the end of my bad luck

4. My cars timing belt snaps - ouch, so much for the rule of 3

Thank good all is sorted now. Getting the hoover picked up and repaired under warranty, got a new toaster. The microwave must be special as it fixed itself (still giving it evil looks tho, lol) and I got my car back yesterday. New timing belt, new drive belt, new head gasket and a reconditioned cylinder head. (Garage wanted over £1000, good job I got a mate that is a fully qualified mechanic, picked my car up, done the repairs and brought it back to me for £350)

There is still light at the end of the tunnel!

Yikes. That sounds bad.

What a bugger for the timing belt to go, that really puts the car out of action.

I have had the car 3 months, only thing I forgot to ask was about the timing belt, asked every other possible question. Got it all fixed now, had a total overhaul of the engine done, all gaskets replaced, valves reseated, all belts replaced and all the timing done, engine should be good now for about 4 years until the next timing belt change

Depends on how you look at it, but I'd say you got lucky with the timingbelt issue... Spend about £1200 fixing up my Vectra last October because it needed a new gearbox and clutch. Was close to the cambelt change interval so I decided to get that one done in the process, along with some other bits and peaces.

Two months (and less that 2000 miles) after the cambelt was replaced, it snaps and takes the whole engine with it... Car was a complete write-off.
